Treatise on White Horse: New Perspective on Understanding in Ancient China

W niniejszej pracy przeanalizowano wybrane interpretacje „Traktatu o białym koniu” autorstwa Gongsun Longa. Jest to wyjątkowy przykład chińskiego myśliciela analizującego problem za pomocą narzędzi logicznych. Celem pracy jest również przegląd ontologicznego, epistemologicznego i uniwersalnego statusu logiki poprzez porównanie zachodnich i wschodnich poglądów oraz podejść. Na zakończenie przedstawiono również nową interpretację traktatu.

This work analyzes different, selected interpretations of the “Treatise on White Horse” by Gongsun Long. It is an unique example of a Chinese thinker analyzing problem using logical tools. This work also aims to review ontological, epistemological and universal status of logic by comparing Western and Oriental views and approaches. In the end, it also provides a new interpretation of the treatise.
