The title of my dissertation is: The Diary of Marcelina Darowska - Critical edition with a historical and literary introduction. Marcelina Darowska was born in 1827 in Szulaki, a part of Poland which was governed by the Russians at that time (in today’s Ukraine). In 1841 she married Karol Darowski, and they had two children - Karolina and Józef. After 3 years of marriage first she lost her husband, Karol, then she lost her son, Józef. Marcelina’s Diary served as a memorial, pedagogical work and as instructions. It was also a form of confession. It showed the intimate spiritual life of a woman - the wife, the mother, the founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the pedagogue and the mystic. It is a very important document of the second part of the 19th century
