Praca omawia status prawny osoby zmarłej, uwzględniając historyczną ewolucję instytucji jej dotyczących oraz współczesne uregulowania wiążące się ze śmiercią człowieka. Analizie poddano w szczególności kryteria stwierdzania śmierci, status prawny zwłok i szczątków ludzkich, wygaśnięcie zdolności prawnej oraz skutki śmierci na gruncie prawa cywilnego, administracyjnego i karnego.

The thesis examines the legal status of a deceased person, taking into account the historical evolution of the legal institutions relating to such a person, as well as contemporary regulations connected with human death. In particular, the analysis focuses on the criteria for determining death, the legal status of human corpses and remains, the termination of legal capacity, and the legal consequences of death under civil, administrative, and criminal law.
