Zmiany na scenie politycznej Austrii - analiza wyników przedterminowych wyborów do Rady Narodowej w 2017r.

The first part of the article discusses the course of the National Council election campaign and then compares the results of the elections held in 2013 and 2017. It analyses changes in electoral preferences and the issues connected with motivation of members of the public who cast their votes for the candidates who ran for office. The ending contains conclusions and consequences of the recent National Council elections on the cabinet level. The author hypothesizes that the most decisive issues during the 2017 election campaign included political parties’ stance on the migrant crisis, the vision of the migrant policy that they supported as well as the evaluation of current integration of Muslims in Austria. Concurrence of the parties’ views in those areas is a strong basis for starting cooperation on the cabinet level between Sebastian Kurz’s Christian democrats and the Freedom Party of Austria.
