Widmo Białego Terroru w kinie tajwańskim: Super Citizen Ko i Detention

Praca stanowi próbę analizy dwóch tajwańskich filmów poruszających tematykę Białego Terroru oraz badań filmowej reprezentacji historycznej traumy. Pierwsze dwa rozdziały poświęcone zostały Białemu Terrorowi w historii Tajwanu, teoriom traumy oraz traumie w obrazach. Ostatnie dwa rozdziały mają na celu porównanie struktury narracji, fabuły oraz reprezentacji traumy w filmach: Super Citizen Ko (1994) i Detention (2014). W tych rozdziałach równocześnie zastosowano badania E. Ann Kaplan w celu przyjrzenia się moralności w post-traumatycznych filmach. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie innego rodzaju reprezentacji traumy w wizualnej kulturze z perspektywy Tajwanu oraz poszerzenie różnorodności badań nad traumą.

The thesis analyzes two Taiwanese films about the White Terror and their representation of historical trauma. The first two chapters explore the White Terror in Taiwan's history, trauma theories, and trauma in images. The last two chapters compare the narrative structure, plot, and representation of trauma in Super Citizen Ko (1994) and Detention (2014). These chapters also apply E. Ann Kaplan's research to examine morality in post-traumatic films. The goal is to present a different kind of trauma representation in visual culture from the perspective of Taiwan and to broaden the scope of trauma studies.
