Turkic peoples through the ages and lands...
Abstrakt (EN)
As a part of celebrations of the 600th anniversary of Polish-Turkish dip-lomatic relations the Department of Turkish Studies and Inner Asian Peoples of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Warsaw in cooper-ation with the Warsaw Center of the Yunus Emre Institute have organized the Third International Congress of Turkology. This book, the Remarks on Turkish Studies / Türklük Mülahazaları,is published as a continuation of discussions started during the Congress. What we are presenting in its scope are the most important papers which drew the greatest attention of the audience during the Congress. The main purpose of this publication is to show that contemporary Turkology may find its place and its subject of research in many branches of humanities and should be approached as an interdisciplinary domain. Especially in the last few years the Turkish studies proved that they may encompass many fields and specialties of humanities and academic research. Even though for many researchers literature, language studies and linguistics still remain the basis of their professional activity we may actually talk about crossing the borders between different academic disciplines. As the editors of this volume we hope that we have been able to pro-vide the scholars interested in the Turkish studies a platform for exchanging their experiences, ideas, thoughts and remarks.
