Rozprawa doktorska "Dynamiki inności. Teksty Yoko Tawady w perspektywie badań nad różnicami" to analiza twórczości Yoko Tawady wykraczająca poza ścisłe ramy wywodu literaturoznawczego i wykorzystująca interdyscyplinarne narzędzia i metody badań zjawisk naturokulturowych. Skoncentrowana jest na nomadycznych narracjach, motywie wody, przemiany, migracji rozumianej jako przemieszczanie się, wędrówka i przenoszenie się, w tekstach Yoko Tawady. Na początku pracy znajdują się rozdziały przedstawiające biografię Yoko Tawady oraz rewizję recepcji twórczości tej pisarki zarówno w krajowym jak i międzynarodowym dyskursie badawczym. Yoko Tawada to pisząca w języku niemieckim i japońskim pisarka, która urodziła się w Japonii i do Niemiec przyjechała w 1982 roku. Okazuje się, że stan krajowych badań nad jej twórczością jest wysoce niezadawalający na tle publikacji międzynarodowych. W kolejnych rozdziałach przedstawiona została wyżej wskazana problematyka pracy, czyli dynamiki inności oraz badania nad różnicami stanowiące główną strategię metodologiczną rozprawy. To podejście badawcze oparte jest na pluralizmie metodologicznym i włącza różne perspektywy oraz koncepcje: poststrukturalne, posthumanistyczne, postkolonialne, z zakresu studiów queer oraz nowego materializmu. Punktem wyjścia dla analiz jest rozdział dotyczący kategorii, w których pisarstwo Yoko Tawady bywa kontekstualizowane, należy do nich m.in. tzw. „literatura migracyjna”. Istotnym elementem tej części pracy jest włączenie do refleksji dotyczącej tych podziałów fragmentu powieści Yoko Tawady. Rozdział ten stanowi przejście do dalszych analiz, których najbardziej istotnym elementem jest tekst literacki, co także zaznaczone jest w samym temacie pracy. Za jej najważniejsze elementy należy uznać pogłębioną i wieloaspektową analizę wskazanej problematyki, konceptualizację zaproponowanej metodologii, dużą liczbę przekładów, wypracowany system metafor oraz pojęć niezbędnych do przeprowadzenia analiz, interdyscyplinarne i transgresywne interpretacje wpisujące się w najnowsze trendy w badaniach humanistycznych, ale też poszerzające granice humanistyki i stanowiące zarazem zaangażowaną odpowiedź na wyzwania, które stawia przed nią współczesny świat.

The doctoral thesis titled ‘Dynamics of Alterity. Yoko Tawada's Texts in the Perspective of Studies on Difference’ is an analysis of Yoko Tawada's work that goes beyond the strict framework of literary studies and employs interdisciplinary tools and methods for studying nature-cultural phenomena. It focuses on nomadic narratives, the motif of water, transformations, and migrations understood as movement, wandering, and relocating in Yoko Tawada's texts. The thesis begins with chapters presenting Yoko Tawada's biography and a review of the reception of her work in both national and international research discourse. Yoko Tawada is a writer fluent in both German and Japanese; she was born in Japan and moved to Germany in 1982. As it appears, the status of domestic research on her work is highly unsatisfactory compared to international publications. The following chapters address the aforementioned problematic of the work, i.e., the dynamics of alterity and the studies on difference that constitute the main methodological approach of the dissertation. This research approach is based on methodological pluralism and incorporates various perspectives and concepts, including post-structuralism, post-humanism, post-colonialism, queer studies, and new materialism. The analysis begins with a chapter discussing the categories in which Yoko Tawada's writing is often contextualized, including the concept of so-called ‘migration literature’. An important part of this section involves the inclusion of excerpts from Yoko Tawada's novel, serving as a transition to further analyses, with literary texts being a significant focus, as indicated in the thesis's title. The subsequent seventeen chapters provide in-depth and multifaceted analyses of Yoko Tawada's novels, poems, plays, short stories, poetic prose, and essays from the perspective of studies on difference. These analyses correlated with various speculative thoughts form their own system of metaphors inspired by the aforementioned research perspectives. The interpretations focus on deepening the semantic spectrum of dynamics closely related to the outlined thesis problem, including disintegration and dispersion, transformations and transpositions, detachment and transition, permeability, polysemy, word-place, Yoko Tawada/narrator's literary-essayistic concepts, interspaces, inversion, transgression of corporeality, faces of transformation, cell veins and inebriation, gaze and permeable screen, translation without an original, recognition and shattering, the creative field of everyday life, and shifting. The conclusion of the dissertation discusses the most significant results of the research presented in it. The most important elements of the thesis include the in-depth and multifaceted analysis of the indicated problem, the conceptualization of the proposed methodology, a large number of translations, the developed system of metaphors and concepts necessary for the analyses, the interdisciplinary and transgressive interpretations that are in line with the latest trends in humanities research, while also expanding the boundaries of the humanities and serving as an engaged response to the challenges posed by the contemporary world.
