Przekład literacki z perspektywy pisarzy

W artykule przedstawione są teorie przekładu według samych twórców – teorie w jak najbardziej dosłownym znaczeniu tego słowa, jak w wypadku Vladimira Nabokova, Italo Calvino, Umberto Eco, Jorge Luisa Borgesa czy Milana Kundery lub też koncepcje sformułowane w formie luźnych przemyśleń wyrażonych w swobodnej, eseistycznej formie. Omówione są modele przekładu kilkunastu autorów reprezentujących rozmaite literatury: hiszpańską, latynoamerykańską, amerykańską, polską, włoską, portugalską, francuską. Artykuł prezentuje również doświadczenia translatorskie znanych, współczesnych pisarzy oraz relacje autorów z tłumaczami, które przybierają formę przyjacielskiej współpracy lub, przeciwnie, konfliktów i sporów.

The article presents theories of translation according to the writers themselves – theories in the most literal sense of the word, as in the case of Vladimir Nabokov, Italo Calvino, Umberto Eco, Jorge Luis Borges, Milan Kundera, or concepts formulated in the form of loose thoughts expressed in a free, essayistic form. The concepts of translation of several authors representing various literatures are discussed: Spanish, Latin American, American, Polish, Italian, Portuguese, French. The article also presents the translational experience of famous, contemporary writers and the authors’ relations with translators, which take the form of friendly cooperation or, on the contrary, conflicts and disputes.
