Des mots qui fondent et des blagues qui craquent : traduire Charlie and the Chocolate Factory en polonais et en français

Praca bada strategie oraz techniki tłumaczenia humoru w literaturze dziecięcej na podstawie dzieła Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Roalda Dahla. W części teoretycznej omówiono komizm w literaturze dla najmłodszych, wyzwania, jakie stawia jego tłumaczenie, oraz charakterystykę humoru w utworze Dahla. Analiza kontrastywna została przeprowadzona na podstawie tekstu oryginalnego, przekładu francuskiego (É. Gaspar) oraz dwóch polskich (T. Wyżyński, M. Rusinek). Badanie nazw własnych, okazjonalizmów i humoru zawartego w interakcjach ukazuje, że dominujące normy tłumaczeniowe oraz czynniki kulturowe i językowe mają znaczący wpływ na przekład. W rezultacie wymagana jest od tłumacza duża doza kreatywności oraz wysoka biegłość językowa, aby zachować funkcję ludyczną tekstu.

This thesis examines translation strategies and techniques for humor in children's literature, based on Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The theoretical framework discusses comedy in literature for young readers, the challenges of its translation, and the characteristics of humor in Dahl's work. A contrastive analysis is conducted using the source text, the French translation (É. Gaspar), and two Polish versions (T. Wyżyński, M. Rusinek). The study of proper names, occasionalisms, and interactional humor reveals that prevailing translation norms, cultural and linguistic factors heavily influence the translation process. Consequently, a high degree of creativity and exceptional linguistic proficiency are required to preserve the text's ludic function.

Ce mémoire examine les stratégies et les techniques de traduction de l'humour dans la littérature de jeunesse à travers Charlie and the Chocolate Factory de Roald Dahl. La partie théorique aborde le comique pour la jeunesse, les défis de sa traduction et les spécificités de l'humour dans l'œuvre de Dahl. L'analyse contrastive repose sur le texte original, la version française (É. Gaspar) et deux traductions polonaises (T. Wyżyński, M. Rusinek). L'étude des noms propres, des occasionalismes et de l'humour des interactions démontre l'influence majeure des normes traductionnelles ainsi que des facteurs culturels et linguistiques. Par conséquent, une créativité remarquable et une haute maîtrise linguistique sont requises chez le traducteur pour préserver la fonction ludique du texte.
