The Interstices of Reality

For the most part, we live our everyday lives surrounded by solid, substantial, reliable things fitting into, and supporting, our practical projects. We live our lives believing in the stable and, more or less, unified nature of our selves and the life-worlds we inhabit. We live our lives trusting that the usual course of events, even if it can quite often surprise us, will not undermine our basic sense of reality as continuous, stable, more or less permanent.
