Las técnicas de traducción de los elementos de comicidad verbal en la traducción española de Ciberíada de Stanisław Lem

Tematem niniejszej pracy są techniki tłumaczeniowe elementów komizmu słownego w hiszpańskim przekładzie Cyberiady Stanisława Lema. Celem pracy jest ustalenie, jakimi technikami posługują się tłumacze przy tłumaczeniu środków komicznych w tekstach literatury fantastycznonaukowej oraz jak tłumaczenie wpływa na zachowanie ich znaczenia oraz efektu humorystycznego. W części teoretycznej pracy wyjaśniono specyfikę gatunku fantastyki naukowej, wyjaśniono pojęcia takie jak humor, komizm oraz komizm słowny, a także przybliżono teorie humoru według badaczki Danuty Buttler. Następnie przedstawiono środki komizmu słownego według klasyfikacji badaczki Krystyny Warchał. Na koniec opisano problematykę tłumaczenia literackiego, tłumaczenia tekstów fantastyczno-naukowych, humoru, a także przedstawiono klasyfikację technik tłumaczeniowych według Amparo Hurtado Albir i Krzysztofa Hejwowskiego. W części analitycznej pracy przeprowadzono analizę porównawczą tekstu wyjściowego, Cyberiady Staisława Lema oraz tekstu docelowego, jej hiszpańskiego przekładu w tłumaczeniu Jadwigi Maurizio. W analizie porównano elementy komizmu słownego z ich hiszpańskim tłumaczeniem pod względem znaczenia, formy i oczekiwanego efektu humorystycznego u odbiorcy. Na jej podstawie wykazano, jakie techniki posłużyły do przetłumaczenia środków komicznych oraz jak wpłynęły na zachowanie ich znaczenia, formy i efektu humorystycznego. W wyniku analizy wykazano, które techniki były najczęściej wybierane przez tłumaczkę i dawały najlepsze rezultaty.

The subject of this thesis is the translation techniques used to translate the elements of verbal humor in the Spanish translation of Stanisław Lem’s The Cyberiad. The aim is to determine which techniques translators employ when translating humorous elements in science-fiction literature and how translation affects the preservation of their meaning and humorous effect. The theoretical section explains the specificity of the science-fiction genre; clarifies the notions of humor, comicity, and verbal humor; and outlines theories of humor following Danuta Buttler. It then presents the elements of verbal humor according to the classification proposed by Krystyna Warchał. Finally, it discusses issues in literary translation, the translation of science-fiction texts and humor, and sets out the classification of translation techniques according to Amparo Hurtado Albir and Krzysztof Hejwowski. The analytical section carries out a comparative analysis between the source text, Lem’s The Cyberiad, and the target text, its Spanish translation by Jadwiga Maurizio. The comparison examines the elements of verbal humor and their equivalents in terms of meaning, form, and the expected humorous effect on the reader. On this basis, the study identifies which techniques were used to translate the humorous elements and how they influenced the preservation of meaning, form, and humorous effect. The analysis shows which techniques the translator most frequently chose and which yielded the best results.

El tema de este trabajo son las técnicas de traducción de los elementos de la comicidad verbal en la versión española de “Ciberíada” de Stanisław Lem. El objetivo es determinar qué técnicas emplean los traductores al traducir los recursos humorísticos en textos de ciencia ficción y cómo influye la traducción en el mantenimiento del sentido y del efecto cómico. En la parte teórica se expone la especificidad del género de la ciencia ficción; se aclaran los conceptos de humor, comicidad y comicidad verbal, y se presentan teorías del humor según Danuta Buttler. A continuación, se describen los recursos de la comicidad verbal siguiendo la clasificación de Krystyna Warchał. Por último, se aborda la problemática de la traducción literaria, la traducción de textos de ciencia ficción y del humor, y se presenta la tipología de técnicas traductoras de Amparo Hurtado Albir y Krzysztof Hejwowski. En la parte analítica se realiza un análisis comparativo entre el texto de partida, “Ciberíada” de Lem, y el texto de llegada, su traducción al español realizada por Jadwiga Maurizio. El análisis consistió en examinar los elementos de comicidad verbal y sus equivalentes en cuanto a sentido, forma y efecto humorístico esperado. Con base en ello, se identificaron las técnicas utilizadas y su impacto en la conservación del significado, la forma y el efecto cómico. El estudio muestra qué técnicas fueron más empleadas por la traductora y cuáles ofrecieron mejores resultados.
