Praca informatyka w Polsce – demitologizacja w opiniach i oczekiwaniach potencjalnych użytkowników
Abstrakt (EN)
The main goal of this paper is to present students’ preferences and expectations related to possible work in the IT profession in the future. At the beginning of the article, a brief overview of the Polish employment market in the field of business information systems was initially presented. The next part is the analysis of the students’ perception of the current situation and market conditions in which IT specialists operate and the development trends in the context of challenges, hopes and fears related to performing work related to IT. Inaddition, the barriers and determinants of the choice of this profession were examined. Shortcomings in higher education in this area and ways to overcome them in achieving the position of IT specialists were also discussed.The study was done by the CAWI method among students of the selected, leading economics universities in Poland. The questionnaire was available to respondents on the servers of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw. Discussion of the results achieved was carried out and synthetic conclusions were drawn, referring to particular aspects of the conducted research. Recommendations regarding the educational offer for students of the selected economical universities wishing to work in the IT profession were formulated. Research limitations and directions of future work in this field have been also defined.
