Under German occupation in the General Government, Belarus's organizational activity became more active among Belarusian Orthodox communities. Guided by political considerations, German invaders gave freedom to Belarusians in the sphere of religion. This activity began in 1940 with the establishment of the Belarusian Committee in Warsaw. The initiators of religious activity were Belarusian intelligentsia who stayed in Poland. Thus, a Belarusian Orthodox parish was established in Belarus, religious literature was published in the Belarusian language, national holidays were celebrated, and Belarusianchurch life was promoted.
