The paper considers examples of eroticism in the biography and heritage of F.M. Dos-toevsky. The author of the publication turns to well-known and new studies, makes novel comparisons through analysis of facts and myths. This paper does not provide the final answer, but rather proposes new questions, the answer to which will depend on the methodology of further research. The personality of the writer appears as am-biguous and contradictory, which is reflected in his polyphonic literary works. In ad-dition, the author has become an attribute of the postmodern worldview, which de-creases the clarity of understanding.
