Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie relacji tańca high heels, z kwestią performowania kobiecości. W pierwszym rozdziale opisuję związek szpilek z kobiecością. W drugim rozdziale podejmuję próbę scharakteryzowania tańca high heels i opisania źródeł jego popularności. Następnie, na podstawie badań przeprowadzonych wśród tancerek, zwracam uwagę na znaczenie, jakie ma dla nich taka forma ekspresji. Niniejsza praca wykazuje niejednoznaczność relacji noszenia szpilek z kobiecością.

The purpose of this thesis is to present the relationship between high heels dance and the issue of performing femininity. In the first chapter, I describe the relationship between high heels and femininity. In the second chapter I attempt to characterize high heels dance and describe the sources of its popularity. Then, basing on my own research conducted among dancers, I draw attention to the meaning that this form of expression has for them. This thesis demonstrates the ambiguity of the relationship between wearing high heels and femininity.
