This paper aims to shed light on the Rwandan genocide, represented in a whole range of publications – diaries, essays, novels, short stories, poetry. The works issued from the commemorative project „Rwanda: écrire par devoir de mémoire” (Rwanda – writing as duty towards memory) appear as particularly important. Writers are presenting in their literary works images of the tragic events and are using many languague strategies to pass the literary representations of the Rwandan genocide.
