La poésie en musique. Analyse comparative des techniques de traduction à travers les chansons de Jacques Brel traduites par Wojciech Młynarski.

Celem powyższej pracy jest analiza technik tłumaczeniowych użytych przez Wojciecha Młynarskiego w tłumaczeniach piosenek Jacquesa Brela, mianowicie « Les Flamandes », « Ne me quitte pas », « Les vieux », « La chanson des vieux amants » oraz « Amsterdam ». W części teoretycznej pracy znajdują się dwa rozdziały. Pierwszy z nich obejmuje tematykę podobieństw i różnic pomiędzy piosenką i poezją. Zwrócona jest w nim ponadto uwaga na ograniczenia formalne omówione w oparciu o koncepcję pięcioboju Lowa. Rozdział drugi koncentruje się na klasyfikacji technik tłumaczeniowych w ujęciu Vinaya i Darbelneta. Mowa jest również o koncepcjach ekwiwalencji dynamicznej Nidy i tłumaczenia komunikacyjnego Newmarka. Z kolei wyzwania językowe zostały przedstawione za pomocą poszczególnych typów przekształceń językowych będących przedmiotem badań Catforda. W części praktycznej analizie poddane są konkretne przykłady technik, sprowadzając ją jednocześnie do kategoryzacji poszczególnych problemów. W ten sposób zostają wyodrębnione trzy kategorie wyzwań tłumaczeniowych. Są to problemy związane z ograniczeniami formalnymi, poetyckim charakterem tekstu oraz przekształceniami językowymi.

The aim of the above work is to analyse the translation techniques used by Wojciech Młynarski in his translations of Jacques Brel's songs, namely ‘ Les Flamandes ’, ‘ Ne me quitte pas ’, ‘ Les vieux’ , ‘ La chanson des vieux amants ’ and ‘ Amsterdam ’. There are two chapters in the theoretical part of the work. The first covers the subject of similarities and differences between song and poetry. It furthermore draws attention to formal constraints discussed on the basis of Low's concept of the pentagon. The second chapter focuses on the classification of translation techniques as seen by Vinay and Darbelnet. The concepts of Nida's dynamic equivalence and Newmark's communicative translation are also mentioned. Linguistic challenges, in turn, are presented through the particular types of linguistic transformations that are the subject of Catford's research. In the practical section, concrete examples of the techniques are analysed, at the same time reducing it to a categorisation of the individual problems. In this way, three categories of translation challenges are identified. These are problems related to formal constraints, the poetic nature of the text and linguistic transformations.

L'objectif de ce travail est d'analyser les techniques de traduction utilisées par Wojciech Młynarski dans ses traductions des chansons de Jacques Brel, à savoir « Les Flamandes », « Ne me quitte pas », « Les vieux », « La chanson des vieux amants » et « Amsterdam ». La partie théorique de l'ouvrage comporte deux chapitres. Le premier traite des similitudes et des différences entre la chanson et la poésie. Il attire par ailleurs l'attention sur les contraintes formelles discutées sur la base du concept de pentathlon de Low. Le deuxième chapitre se concentre sur la classification des techniques de traduction telle que la définissent Vinay et Darbelnet. Les concepts d'équivalence dynamique de Nida et de traduction communicative de Newmark sont également mentionnés. Les défis linguistiques, quant à eux, sont présentés à travers les types particuliers de décalages linguistiques qui font l'objet des recherches de Catford. Dans la partie pratique, des exemples concrets de techniques sont analysés, tout en les réduisant à une catégorisation des problèmes individuels. Trois catégories de défis de traduction sont ainsi identifiées. Il s'agit des problèmes liés aux contraintes formelles, à la dimension poétique du texte et aux transformations linguistiques.
