Publikacja podejmuje tematy dotyczące rozwoju różnych kultur i języków, ich przenikania się i wzajemnego wpływu, a także pamięci jako fenomenu kulturowego oraz językowego. Stawia pytanie, czy przełomowe wydarzenia z roku 1989 w Polsce i Niemczech znalazły swoje odbicie w lingwistyce, np. w zakresie językowych form grzecznościowych.

The publication addresses the issues of the development of different cultures and languages, their interconnectedness and mutual influence, as well as those of memory as a cultural and linguistic phenomenon. The book poses the question of whether the events of the 1989 transformation in Poland and Germany are reflected in language, e.g. in the range of linguistic forms of politeness.
