Furie naszych czasów – reprezentacje kobiecej wściekłości w gatunku ‘body horror’ (na przykładach wybranych filmów współczesnych)

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest wizerunek kobiecego gniewu, który zostanie zanalizowany na podstawie współczesnych reprezentacji gatunku body horror. Początkowe omówienie będzie dotyczyło klasycznej struktury fabularnej dzieł grozy z naciskiem na motyw starcia normatywności z innością. Teoria abiektu Julii Kristevej pomoże rozpoznać, jakie elementy są wykorzystywane w konstrukcji figury antagonisty w horrorze. Kobiecość oraz zjawisko female rage będą głównymi zagadnieniami omawianymi w drugim rozdziale. Następnie zostanie opisana krótka historia tego podgatunku z naciskiem na wątek postaci kobiecej. Na przykładach Thanatomorphose Erica Falardeau, Substancji Caroline Fargeat oraz Brzydkiej siostry Emilie Blichfeldt zostanie przeprowadzona analiza fenomenu przedstawień kobiecej furii i sposób w jaki wściekłość rezonuje z cielesnością.

The subject of this thesis is a presentation of female rage, which will be analysed based on the modern representation of body horror genre. Initial analysis will focus on classic plot’s structure of horrors including the theme of the clash between normativity and alterity. Theory of Julia Kristeva’s abject will help to identify elements which are used in construction of villain figure in horror movie. Feminity and the phenomenon of female rage will be discussed in the second chapter. Short history of body horrors, which are focused on female characters, will be presented in next chapter. The case of female rage and its impact on woman’s body will be analysed on the examples of Thanatomorphose (directed by Eric Falardeau), The Substance (directed by Caroline Fargeat) and The Ugly Stepsister (directed by Emilie Blichfeldt).
