The main aim of this chapter is to establish key interpretation linesof Hegel’s thought in the writings of a well-known Polish philosopher,Adam Schaff. The author characterizes the changes in the reception ofthe German philosopher and stress their connections with the politicalatmosphere of the soviet era. The chapter brings out Adam Schaff’sreliance on the tradition of Polish analytical philosophy and shows howthis reliance made the interpretation of Hegel’s writings difficult. However,at the end of his philosophical career, Schaff was able to acknowledge therole of Hegel’s philosophy in Marxian tradition
