Une représentation métaphorique de la sexualité dans le roman « Eve de ses décombres » d'Ananda Devi

Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest metaforycznemu ujęciu seksualności w powieści Anandy Devi Ewa ze swych zgliszcz. Praca składa się z dwóch części: teoretycznej, w której omówiona zostaje figura stylistyczna, jaką jest metafora (przytoczone są jej definicje, rodzaje oraz funkcje), a także analitycznej, poprzedzonej wstępem dotyczącym dyskursu postkolonialnego i feministycznego, niezbędnego do pogłębionej analizy utworu. W części analitycznej przedstawione są trzy fragmenty powieści Devi, a każdy z nich dotyczy relacji głównej bohaterki z mężczyznami, które następnie zostają poddane językowej analizie metaforycznych wyrażeń, jakimi posługuje się narratorka. Dzięki materiałowi zgromadzonemu w teoretycznej części pracy możliwe jest rozpoznanie typu metafory, elementów składowych nazywanych comparé i comparant, zachodzącej pomiędzy nimi analogii oraz wspólnego motywu. Analiza językowa dyskursu w powieści Anandy Devi pozwala na odpowiedź na pytanie badawcze postawione w pracy: jaki obraz wyłania się zza metafor użytych w tekście oraz czemu służy tak liczne ich nagromadzenie.

This thesis is devoted to the metaphorical representation of sexuality in Ananda Devi’s novel Eve out of Her Ruins. It consists of two parts: a theoretical part, which discusses the stylistic figure of metaphor (including its definitions, types, and functions), and an analytical part, preceded by an introduction on postcolonial and feminist discourse, essential for an in-depth analysis of the work. In the analytical section, three excerpts from Devi’s novel are presented; each focuses on the protagonist’s relationships with men, which are then subjected to a linguistic analysis of the metaphorical expressions used by the narrator. Drawing on the material from the theoretical section, it becomes possible to identify the type of metaphor, its components known as tenor and vehicle, the analogy linking them, and the shared motif. The linguistic analysis of discourse in Ananda Devi’s novel enables an answer to the research question: what image emerges from the metaphors used in the text, and why are they so densely employed?

Ce mémoire est consacré à l’analyse métaphorique de la sexualité dans le roman Ève de ses décombres d’Ananda Devi. Il se compose de deux parties : une partie théorique, dans laquelle est présentée la figure stylistique de la métaphore (avec ses définitions, ses types et ses fonctions), et une partie analytique, précédée d’une introduction sur le discours postcolonial et féministe, indispensable à une lecture approfondie de l’œuvre. Dans la section analytique, trois extraits du roman de Devi sont étudiés : chacun traite des relations de l’héroïne avec des hommes, puis ces extraits sont soumis à une analyse linguistique des expressions métaphoriques utilisées par la narratrice. Grâce aux éléments développés dans la partie théorique, il est possible d’identifier le type de métaphore, les composantes appelées comparé et comparant, l’analogie qui les relie ainsi que le thème commun. Cette analyse linguistique permet d’apporter une réponse à la question de recherche : quel tableau émerge des métaphores employées dans le texte et pourquoi leur présence est-elle si marquée ?
