Anglicyzmy w trzech wariantach rosyjskiego języka piłki nożnej

The present article is devoted to Anglicisms in the Russian football language. The author discusses the issues such as linguistic borrowings, language for general purposes, language for special purposes and language of football. Special attention was drawn to communicative variations of Russian football language and the importance of English borrowings within that language. The further part of the thesis concentrates on the analysis of Anglicisms found in the corpus consisting of the Russian version of FIFA Laws Of the Game 2016/17, online press articles devoted to football from both general and sports press, and strings of posts from two online football-fan forums. The analysis distinguishes five classes of lexical borrowings: loanwords, loan translations, semantic loans, hybrids and loan creations. The article describes also the most important aspects of Anglicism adaptation into Russian language at the levels of spelling, morphology, word-formation and semantics.
