W rozdziale pierwszym zostaje podjęta próba zdefiniowania pojęć zawartych w tytule pracy, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem pojęcia pneumy w kontekście gnostycyzmów. Dalej, wskazuje się na relację pomiędzy elementami tytułu oraz zostają zasygnalizowane trudności związane z ich upojęciowieniem. Rozdział drugi zarysowuje pojęcie pneumy w aspekcie psychosomatycznym, omówionym na potrzeby pracy od Hipokratesa, po Arystotelesa, aż do Galena. Następnie autor przedstawia noetyczny wymiar pneumy, prezentowanej we wczesnym stoicyzmie, aby pokazać korelacje z duchowym pojęciem pneumy, występującym w Timajosie Platona, poglądach średnich platoników czy Filona z Aleksandrii. Następnie autor dokonuje selekcji tekstów z angielskiego przekładu kodeksów z Nag Hammadi, adekwatnie prezentujących funkcje pojęcia pneumy w ramach czterech tradycji: hermetycznej, setiańskiej, walentyniańskiej i tomaszowej. Czwarty, ostatni rozdział pracy ma na celu zaprezentować mitogoniczny charakter pneumy w gnostyckiej pneumatologii. W tym celu zostają wykorzystane współczesne nawiązania do tradycji gnostyckich (Hoeller, Jung). Podsumowanie syntetyzuje całość rozważań w świetle wybranych wątków hermeneutycznych.

In the first chapter, an attempt is made to define the concepts contained in the title of the work, with particular emphasis on the concept of pneuma in the context of Gnosticisms. Further, the relationship between the elements of the title is indicated and the difficulties associated with their conceptualization are signaled. The second chapter outlines the concept of pneuma in its psychosomatic aspect, discussed for the purposes of the work from Hippocrates, through Aristotle, to Galen. The author then presents the noetic dimension of pneuma, presented in early Stoicism, in order to show correlations with the spiritual concept of pneuma occurring in Plato's Timaeus, the views of Middle Platonists, or Philo of Alexandria. Subsequently, the author makes a selection of texts from the English translation of the Nag Hammadi codices, adequately presenting the functions of the concept of pneuma within four traditions: Hermetic, Sethian, Valentinian, and Thomasine. The fourth and final chapter of the work aims to present the mythogonic character of pneuma in Gnostic pneumatology. For this purpose, contemporary references to Gnostic traditions (Hoeller, Jung) are utilized. The summary synthesizes the entirety of considerations in light of selected hermeneutical themes.
