Taniec jako komponent narracji filmowej na przykładzie musicali filmowych: „Grease”, „High School Musical 3: Senior Year” oraz „La La Land”

Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej o tytule Taniec jako komponent narracji filmowej na przykładzie musicali filmowych: „Grease”, „High School Musical 3: Senior Year” oraz „La La Land” jest szczegółowa analiza tańca jako autonomicznej formy narracji w trzech wybranych musicalach filmowych. Przyjęto hipotezę badawczą uznającą, że choreografia wraz z jej częściami składowymi nie powinna być traktowana wyłącznie jako element widowiskowy, ale przede wszystkim jako środek wyrazu, który jest równoprawnym składnikiem opowiadania historii. Reprezentatywne dla gatunku musicalu sekwencje taneczne lub/i partie wokalno-taneczne skorelowane ze znamienną dla filmów historią fabularną określam mianem „narracji hybrydowej”. Taniec rozpatruję jako istotne narzędzie narracyjne, które w zależności od przyjętej w utworze koncepcji, pełni rozmaite funkcje. W pracy omówione zostaną musicale filmowe: „Grease” (1978), „High School Musical 3: Senior Year” (2008) oraz „La La Land” (2016), spośród których każdy prezentuje odmienne podejście do tańca oraz jego funkcji.

The aim of this master's thesis entitled Dance as a Component of Film Narrative: A Study of the Film Musicals: „Grease”, „High School Musical 3: Senior Year” and „La La Land” is a detailed analysis of dance as an autonomous form of narrative in three selected film musicals. The research hypothesis adopted here assumes that choreography together with its components should not be treated solely as a spectacular element, but primarily as a means of expression, which is an equal component of storytelling. Dance sequences representative of the musical genre and/or vocal-dance parts integrated with the plot characteristic of films are defined as „hybrid narration”. I consider dance as an important narrative tool, which, depending on the concept adopted in the work, fulfills various functions. The thesis discusses film musicals: „Grease” (1978), „High School Musical 3: Senior Year” (2008) and „La La Land” (2016), each of which presents a different approach to dance and its narrative functions.
