European Union-United States relations from the perspective of the Russian aggression against Ukraine
Abstrakt (EN)
The United States of America (US) and the European Union (EU) are pivotal players on the international arena. Their relationship significantly impacts international dynamics, especially in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine. This conflict has reshaped the diplomatic, economic, and strategic interactions between them, creating a more complex geopolitical environment. The conflict in Ukraine is a critical geopolitical issue, challenging traditional alliances and cooperative structures. This has a tremendous impact on regional stability in Eastern Europe, and at the same time is the assessment of resilience of EU-US cooperation. Both entities have worked together to stabilize the region, manage potential spillover effects, and address the broader geopolitical challenges posed by Russian aggression. Examining diplomatic initiatives and frameworks proposed by the EU and the US offers insights into the prospects for conflict resolution. Peace processes, negotiations, and the viability of long-term solutions are analyzed to understand the path forward. The interplay of diplomatic, economic, and security challenges shapes the evolving landscape of the conflict, revealing both immediate responses and long-term strategies. These relationships will be analyzed from the perspective of liberal theory and game theory, thereby providing a theoretical framework for an in-depth understanding of the motivations, strategies and potential outcomes of EU-US cooperation in response to the conflict in Ukraine.
