Proces restrukturyzacji w przedsiębiorstwie na przykładzie PKP Cargo

Praca licencjacka podejmuje problematykę restrukturyzacji przedsiębiorstw w kontekście zarządzania zmianą oraz poprawy sytuacji finansowej organizacji. Celem pracy było omówienie, na czym polega restrukturyzacja jako proces zarządczy oraz przeanalizowanie rzeczywistego przypadku – spółki PKP Cargo S.A. W części teoretycznej przedstawiono podstawowe pojęcia związane z zarządzaniem zmianą, typologię restrukturyzacji oraz jej cele. Opisano również główne uwarunkowania wpływające na podejmowanie decyzji restrukturyzacyjnych oraz przedstawiono możliwe efekty tych procesów. W części metodologicznej zaprezentowano studium przypadku jako metodę badawczą. Jako główne narzędzie zastosowano analizę opisową z elementami analizy dokumentów, co umożliwiło uzyskanie pogłębionego obrazu działań podejmowanych przez spółkę. W dalszej części przedstawiono charakterystykę PKP Cargo, w tym jej historię, strukturę organizacyjną oraz pozycję na rynku przewozów towarowych. Następnie przeanalizowano przebieg procesu restrukturyzacji – od przyczyn, przez działania podejmowane przez zarząd, po kierunki strategiczne realizowane po wdrożeniu zmian. W ostatnim rozdziale wykonano ocenę wyników wskaźników finansowych, takich jak dynamika przychodów, koszty operacyjne, EBITDA czy poziom zadłużenia. Praca ukazuje, że odpowiednio zaplanowana i wdrożona restrukturyzacja może być skutecznym narzędziem zarządzania w trudnych warunkach rynkowych. Praca może stanowić zbiór informacji dla innych firm planujących podobne działania oraz dla studentów zainteresowanych tematyką finansów i zarządzania zmianą.

The Bachelor's thesis addresses the issue of corporate restructuring in the context of managing change and improving the financial situation of an organisation. The aim of the thesis was to discuss what restructuring is as a management process and to analyse a real case - the company PKP Cargo S.A. The theoretical part presents the basic concepts related to change management, the typology of restructuring and its objectives. The main conditions influencing restructuring decisions are also described and the possible effects of these processes are presented. The methodological part presents a case study as a research method. A descriptive analysis with elements of document analysis was used as the main tool, which made it possible to obtain an in-depth picture of the activities undertaken by the company. In the following part, the characteristics of PKP Cargo were presented, including its history, organisational structure and position on the freight market. Then, the course of the restructuring process was analysed - from the causes, through the actions taken by the management, to the strategic directions implemented after the implementation of the changes. The final chapter assesses the results of financial indicators such as revenue dynamics, operating costs, EBITDA or debt levels. The work shows that a properly planned and implemented restructuring can be an effective management tool in difficult market conditions. The work can serve as a resource for other companies planning similar activities and for students interested in finance and change management.
