Los artesanos de élite Wari del Castillo de Huarmey

For Antamina, this new and significant discovery marks a milestone in the scientific research conducted by the Polish-Peruvian project 'Castillo de Huarmey' in our region, Ancash. Ten years ago, in 2014, Antamina joined this effort to preserve our local history and culture, highlighting the importance of the Wari Empire—the predecessor of the Inca Empire—on the north coast of our country. This endowed Huarmey with a rich heritage of traditions and culture, which we can now appreciate through this archaeological find. Once again, we want to acknowledge and thank the 'Castillo de Huarmey' project for the opportunity to participate in this process, which enables us to learn more about our local history. This allows us to explore new and better opportunities to promote sustainable tourism and the cultural and economic dynamism that this activity brings. We are convinced that by learning more about our past, we can build a better future for the new generations of Huarmey citizens, who today are even more proud of their historical legacy.
