Aksaray ilinin deyimlerinde beden organlarının kavramlaştırılması
Abstrakt (EN)
The purpose of this paper is to present a conceptual / linguistic image of human body parts as they are presented in the idioms of the Aksaray region. The source material is the phraseology collected by M. Doǧan (2010) in the towns and villages of the analyzed region ın questıon. In order to show the specific characteristics attrıbuted to body parts in the Aksaray region, first I will be present a dictionary definition; next, a cognitive definition will be given, based on the phraseological expressions existing in general Turkish (included in the http://www.tdk.gov.tr). A short cognitive definition will be presented in accordance with the theory of Conceptual Metaphor Theory (Lakoff, Johnson 1980) and the theory of the linguistic image of the world (Bartmiński 2006). Somatic phraseology can be considered to be a part of the anthropocentric of view of world because people describe the world from their own point of view. Defining the surrounding world by naming its individual elements and abstract thinking is based on the capabilities of the human mind. In order to understand something new, one describes it by referring to what is already known to him, and one of the most familiar things is his own body. Therefore, in every language many idioms can be found which contain components relating to the human body and which are used to describe the surrounding world. In this paper I shall discuss idioms containing the following words: aǧız - mouth, baş - head, boǧaz - throat, burun - nose, diş - teeth, dil - tongue, el - hand, göz - eye. Most idioms contains the el - hand component (7), 6 refer to the head and 5 to the mouth. This fact indicates that these parts of the body are perceived as most important in the Aksaray province. However, this assumption does not mean that the idioms occurring in the whole of Turkey are not used here. In order to established that, a survey should be carried out, followed by statistical research, but this is beyond the scope of this study.
