Praca ma na celu analizę sposobu myślenia o zwierzętach i innych formach życia w świecie zmuszonym stawić czoło kryzysowi środowiska. Punktem wyjścia do szerszej refleksji jest książka Vinciane Despret L’Autobiographie d’un poulpe poświęcona działalności artystycznej zwierząt. Autorka odwołuje się w niej do terolingwistyki – fikcyjnej dyscypliny badającej formy języka i twórczości u istot nie-ludzkich. Praca bada przede wszystkim trzy przedstawione w książce przykłady twórczości zwierząt (pająków, wombatów i ośmiornic), a także omawia jej nowatorską formę jako fikcji naukowej czy opowieści zwierzęcej. Analiza wzbogacona jest odniesieniami do refleksji filozoficznej (m.in. I. Stengers, B. Latour, B. Morizot), co pozwala na umiejscowienie problematyki zwierzęcej prezentowanej w książce w kontekście współczesnych wyzwań ekologicznych.

The goal of this MA thesis is to analyze how we imagine animals and other forms of life in a world that has to face an environmental crisis. The starting point is Vinciane Despret’s book L’Autobiographie d’un poulpe devoted to the artistic activity of animals. The author refers to therolinguistics – a fictional discipline that explores forms of language and creation among non-human beings. The thesis primarily examines three examples of animal artistic creation presented in the book (those of spiders, wombats, and octopuses), while also reflecting on its innovative form as a work of scientific fiction and animal story. This analysis is enriched with references to philosophical reflections (i.a. I. Stengers, B. Latour, B. Morizot) which allows to situate the animal issue presented in the book within the context of contemporary ecological challenges.

Le travail a pour objectif d’analyser notre manière de penser aux animaux et à d’autres formes de vie, dans un monde confronté à la crise environnementale. Le point de départ pour une réflexion plus large est le livre de Vinciane Despret L’Autobiographie d’un poulpe, consacré à la création artistique animale. L’autrice s’y réfère à la thérolinguistique – une discipline fictive explorant les formes de langage et de création chez les non-humains. Le travail étudie principalement trois exemples de la création artistique animale présentés dans le livre (les araignées, les wombats et les poulpes) ; il se penche aussi sur sa forme novatrice de fiction scientifique et de récit animalier. L’analyse s’enrichit de plusieurs références à la réflexion philosophique (e.a. I. Stengers, B. Latour, B. Morizot), ce qui permet de situer la question animale présentée dans le livre dans le contexte des défis écologiques contemporains.
