Innovation Policy as Public Policy. Theoretical Approach

The objective of the article is to situate innovation policy in the broad area of public policy. The article shows that innovation policy is typical of public policies, being characterized by its life cycle, determinants and actors. It examines relations between innovative policy and industry, science and the government. The article concludes with an indication of the aspects of innovation policy, which should particularly attract the attention of decision-makers in order to raise the level of innovativeness of the economy and accelerate economic development.
