Wartości kulturowe społeczności Głuchych w Polsce. Analiza artykułów o tematyce sportowej w czasopiśmie Świat Ciszy

Tematem pracy są wartości kulturowe charakterystyczne dla społeczności Głuchych w Polsce. W celu zidentyfikowania tych wartości przeprowadzono analizę treści artykułów o tematyce sportowej w czasopiśmie Świat Ciszy wydawanym przez Polski Związek Głuchych. Analizą zostały objęte artykuły z numerów, które ukazały się w latach 2000-2022. Sport obecny jest w społeczności Głuchych w Polsce niemal od początków jej istnienia i pełni w niej wiele ważnych funkcji, m.in. przyczynia się do integracji Głuchych z całego kraju. W okresie międzywojennym działalność sportowa związana była m.in. z powstawaniem organizacji zrzeszających Głuchych sportowców i do prowadzenia czasopisma poświęconego sprawom sportu Głuchych. Po wojnie ten rodzaj działalności był kontynuowany i artykuły o tematyce sportowej ukazywały się regularnie w różnych czasopismach poświęconych sprawom Głuchych. Ponieważ sport od ponad stu lat niezmiennie pozostaje w sferze zainteresowań społeczności Głuchych w Polsce, analizę wartości zdecydowano się przeprowadzić w oparciu o artykuły dotyczące właśnie tego tematu. Wyniki badań wskazują, że w hierarchii wartości społeczności Głuchych w Polsce najwyżej cenione są wartości kolektywistyczne, takie jak współpraca, dzielenie się informacjami, zachęcanie do działania czy troska. W mniejszym stopniu uwidaczniają się wartości indywidualistyczne, takie jak podkreślanie własnych osiągnięć, samoświadomość czy koncentracja na jednostce.

The subject of this study is the cultural values characteristic of the Deaf community in Poland. In order to identify these values, a content analysis of articles on sports topics in the Świat Ciszy magazine published by the Polish Deaf Association was carried out. Articles from issues that appeared between 2000 and 2022 were analysed. Sport has been present in the Deaf community in Poland almost since its inception and has many important functions in the community, including contributing to the integration of Deaf people from all over the country. In the interwar period, sporting activities were associated with, among other things, the creation of organisations for Deaf athletes and the running of a magazine dedicated to Deaf sports. After the war, this type of activity continued and articles on sporting issues appeared regularly in various Deaf magazines. As sport has invariably been a subject of interest to the Deaf community in Poland for more than a century, it was decided to carry out a value analysis based on articles dealing with this particular subject. The results of the study indicate that in the hierarchy of values of the Deaf community in Poland, collectivist values such as cooperation, sharing information, encouragement and caring are valued the highest. Individualistic values, such as emphasising one's own achievements, self-awareness or focus on the individual, are less prominent.
