Análise das relações de género no contexto colonial e pós-colonial no romance Alegre Canto da Perdiz de Paulina Chiziane

Niniejsza praca skupia się na analizie relacji genderowych w kolonialnym i postkolonialnym Mozambiku na podstawie powieści O Alegre Canto da Perdiz autorstwa Paulina Chiziane. Celem badania było ukazanie w jaki sposób system kolonialny, a także zmiany społeczne które nastąpiły po uzyskaniu niepodległości, wpłynęły na relacje między kobietami a mężczyznami. Wychodzimy z założenia, iż okres kolonialny i postkolonialny znacznie wpłynęły na relacje genderowe, pogłębiając już istniejące nierówności poprzez narzucanie struktur kolonialnych i patriarchalnych. Jednocześnie zakładamy, że w okresie postkolonialnym hierarchiczne różnice w tych relacjach powinny się zmniejszyć. W pierwszej części pracy koncentrujemy się na teorii relacji genderowych w kontekście kolonialnym i postkolonialnym przedstawionej przez, między innymi, Signe Arnfred i Isabela Maria Casimiro. W drugiej części badamy nurty feminizmu afrykańskiego zaproponowane przez Renatę Díaz-Szmidt oraz sprawdzamy w jaki sposób bohaterki powieści wpisują się w te nurty. Uwzględniamy w niej również pogłębioną analizę trzech głównych postaci kobiecych. Tematem trzeciej części pracy są relacje romantyczne bohaterek O Alegre Canto da Perdiz i zestawienie ich z wcześniej badanymi teoriami genderowymi. Wnioski pracy wskazują na twierdzącą odpowiedź na zadaną hipotezę z zastrzeżeniem, że chociaż sytuacja w okresie postkolonialnym uległa polepszeniu, dalej nie uzyskano całkowitej równości w relacjach.

This thesis focuses on an analysis of gender relations in colonial and post-colonial Mozambique based on the novel O Alegre Canto da Perdiz by Paulina Chiziane. The aim of the study was to show how the colonial system, as well as the social changes that occurred after independence, affected the relationships between men and women. We hypothesis that the colonial and post-colonial periods significantly affected gender relations, exacerbating already existing inequalities by imposing colonial and patriarchal structures. At the same time, we assume that in the post-colonial period hierarchical differences in these relations should diminish. In the first part of the paper, we focus on the theory of gender relations in colonial and postcolonial contexts presented by Signe Arnfred and Isabela Maria Casimiro, among others. In the second part, we explore the currents of African feminism proposed by Renata Díaz-Szmidt and examine how the novel's female protagonists fit into these currents. We also include an in-depth analysis of the three main female characters. The theme of the third part of the thesis is the romantic relationships of the female protagonists of O Alegre Canto da Perdiz and their juxtaposition with previously studied gender theories. The conclusions of the thesis indicate an affirmative answer to the hypothesis posed, with the caveat that although the situation has improved in the post-colonial period, total equality in relationships has still not been achieved.

Esta tese centra-se numa análise das relações de género em Moçambique colonial e pós- colonial, com base no romance O Alegre Canto da Perdiz, de Paulina Chiziane. O objetivo do estudo é mostrar como o sistema colonial, bem como as mudanças sociais que ocorreram após a independência, afetaram as relações entre homens e mulheres. Partimos da hipótese de que os períodos colonial e pós-colonial afetaram significativamente as relações de género, exacerbando as desigualdades já existentes através da imposição de estruturas coloniais e patriarcais. Ao mesmo tempo, partimos do princípio de que, no período pós-colonial, as diferenças hierárquicas nestas relações deveriam diminuir. Na primeira parte do artigo, centramo-nos na teoria das relações de género em contextos coloniais e pós-coloniais apresentada por Signe Arnfred e Isabela Maria Casimiro, entre outros. Na segunda parte, exploramos as correntes do feminismo africano propostas por Renata Díaz-Szmidt e examinamos a forma como as protagonistas femininas do romance se enquadram nessas correntes. Incluímos também uma análise aprofundada das três personagens femininas principais. O tema da terceira parte da tese são as relações amorosas das protagonistas femininas de O Alegre Canto da Perdiz e a sua justaposição com as teorias de género anteriormente estudadas. As conclusões da tese indicam uma resposta afirmativa à hipótese colocada, com a ressalva de que, embora a situação tenha melhorado no período pós- colonial, a igualdade total nas relações ainda não foi alcançada.
