Sérotonine de Michel Houellebecq : chronique de la condition humaine du XXIe siècle

W pracy przedstawiono analizę powieści Serotonina Michela Houellebecqa jako literackiej kroniki współczesnej kondycji człowieka zagubionego w zdehumanizowanym, zglobalizowanym świecie Zachodu. Punktem wyjścia jest koncepcja hipernowoczesności G. Lipovetsky'ego, która stanowi ramę dla refleksji psychologicznej i socjologicznej nad sylwetką głównego bohatera, Florenta-Claude'a Labrouste'a. Poszczególne części pracy skupiają się na technikach narracyjnych, analizie modelu życia zaproponowanego przez autora powieści i przedstawieniu postaw obronnych wobec przytłaczającej rzeczywistości. Poprzez pryzmat rozpadu więzi międzyludzkich oraz zaniku wyższych wartości, takich jak miłość, rodzina czy wiara, praca ukazuje, w jaki sposób Houellebecq opisuje zagubienie jednostki w otaczającym ją świecie.

The work presents an analysis of Michel Houellebecq's novel Serotonin as a literary chronicle of the contemporary condition of man lost in the dehumanized, globalized world of the West. The starting point is G. Lipovetsky's concept of hypermodernity, which provides a framework for psychological and sociological reflection on the figure of the main character, Florent-Claude Labrouste. Individual parts of the paper focus on narrative techniques of analyzing the model of life proposed by the author of the novel and presenting defensive attitudes towards overwhelming reality. Through the prism of the disintegration of interpersonal bonds and the disappearance of higher values, such as love, family or faith, the paper shows how Houellebecq describes the loss of an individual in the world around him.

Ce travail présente une analyse du roman « Sérotonine » de Michel Houellebecq en tant que chronique littéraire de la condition contemporaine de l'homme perdu dans le monde déshumanisé et globalisé de l'Occident. Le point de départ est le concept d'hypermodernité développé par G. Lipovetsky, qui fournit un cadre à la réflexion psychologique et sociologique sur la figure du personnage principal, Florent-Claude Labrouste. Certaines sections de ce travail s’attachent à examiner les techniques narratives, l'analyse du modèle de vie proposé par l'auteur et la présentation d'attitudes défensives face à la réalité accablante. À travers la rupture des liens interpersonnels et la disparition de valeurs fondamentales telles que l'amour, la famille et la foi, l'œuvre montre comment Houellebecq décrit la perte de repères et l’isolement croissant de l’individu dans le monde contemporain.
