Abstrakt (EN)

The present paper is aimed to outline a series of uses and functions of metafictional narration in contemporary Spanish novels published in the last decade. Narrative works of Vicente Luis Mora, Antonio Orejudo, Miguel Espigado and Elvira Navarro draw attention to their status as artifacts not only through overt (explicit) forms of metafiction but also through its covert (implicit) modality. The latter is the object of the present study, which can also be perceived as an introduction to contemporary Spanish narrative that explores the conceptual boundaries of the novel genre.
