Wernakularne i eko-dekolonialne praktyki muzealne: studium przypadku Muzeum Indian w Spytkowie

Przedmiot pracy stanowią strategie wystawiennicze swoiste dla instytucji muzealnych poświęconych kulturom Rdzennych mieszkańców Ameryki Północnej. Badanie ma charakter studium przypadku – jego celem jest eksploracja i interpretacja praktyk dominujących w Muzeum Indian Amerykańskich w Spytkowie. W celu wydobycia materiału potrzebnego do skonstruowania przedmiotu analizy wykorzystano metodologię praktyczną, wywiad rozumiejący przeprowadzony z właścicielami badanego muzeum, a także obserwację uczestniczącą przeprowadzoną na terenie placówki muzealnej. Stopniowa integracja narzędzi metodologiczno-teoretycznych pozwoliła scharakteryzować dominujące praktyki badanego muzeum jako przykład realizacji założeń teorii kultury wernakularnej, a także modelu eko- dekolonialnego praktyk muzealnych.

The subject of this work is the exhibition strategies specific to museum institutions dedicated to the cultures of the Indigenous peoples of North America. The study takes the form of a case study – its aim is to explore and interpret the practices prevailing at the Museum of American Indians in Spytkowo. In order to obtain the material necessary for constructing the object of analysis, a practical methodology was applied: an in-depth interview conducted with the owners of the museum under study, as well as participant observation carried out on the museum premises. The gradual integration of methodological and theoretical tools made it possible to characterize the dominant practices of the museum as an example of implementing the assumptions of vernacular culture theory, as well as the eco-decolonial model of museum practices.
