Prostytucja. Między dewiacją a normą

Rozprawa poświęcona jest uzasadnieniu tezy głoszącej, że prostytucja podlegała w dziejach i podlega współcześnie naprzemiennie lub jednocześnie procesom dewiantyzacji (stawania się dewiacją) oraz normalizacji (stawania się zachowaniem, zjawiskiem, uznawanym za normalne, akceptowane). Moim głównym zadaniem w tej pracy jest opis i analiza procesów dewiantyzacji i normalizacji prostytucji w wybranych współczesnych krajach, jak: Holandia, Niemcy, Stany Zjednoczone, Tajlandia, Australia (stan Victoria) i Szwecja. Omawiam także stan tych procesów we współczesnej Polsce; przedsięwzięcia, projekty polityczne, legislacyjne oraz działania społeczne na rzecz normalizacji prostytucji jak i te, zmierzające do jej ograniczenia. Następnie dokonuję krótkiego przeglądu przemian form prostytucji w dziejach rozmaitych krajów, a także charakterystyki zachodzących w nich procesów dewiantyzacji i normalizacji. Rozprawa oparta jest na założeniach socjologii rozumiejącej, humanistycznej, zwłaszcza na socjologicznych teoriach dewiacji mieszczących się w kierunku naznaczania społecznego (labeling theory), a także na konstruktywizmie jako metodologicznej perspektywie badawczej. Zjawisko prostytucji oraz normy z nim związane postrzegam jako społecznie wytworzone, w interakcjonistyczno symbolicznych procesach instytucjonalizacji, elementy ładu społecznego.

The dissertation is dedicated to the justification of the thesis that prostitution has been, in the history and currently, subject to alternation or simultaneous processes of deviantisation (becoming a deviance) and normalisation (becoming a behaviour or phenomenon which is recognised as normal, accepted). My main task in this study is to describe and analyse the processes of deviantisation and normalisation of prostitution in selected modern societies, such as the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, Thailand, Australia (the state of Victoria) and Sweden. I also discuss the state of these processes in modern Poland; undertakings, political projects, legislative and social projects for the normalisation of prostitution as well as those aimed at its reduction. Then, I briefly review the changes in the forms of prostitution in the history of various countries, as well as the characteristics of the processes of deviantisation and normalisation which take place in them. The dissertation is based on the assumptions of understanding and humanistic sociology, especially on the sociological theories of deviation within the scope of social labelling theory, as well as on constructivism as a methodological research perspective. I perceive the phenomenon of prostitution and norms related to it as socially created, in the interactionist and symbolic processes of institutionalization as well as the elements of social order.
