Ulubione gatunki filmowe warszawiaków

Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej było poznanie preferencji gatunkowych mieszkańców Warszawy oraz zbadanie czynników społeczno-demograficznych wpływających na wybór filmów. Szczególną uwagę poświęciłam także roli platform streamingowych w kształtowaniu gustów filmowych oraz porównałam wyniki badania lokalnego z danymi ogólnopolskimi. Badanie przeprowadziłam metodą sondażu, wykorzystując ankietę online, która została udostępniona w mediach społecznościowych. W badaniu wzięło udział ponad 100 respondentów reprezentujących różne grupy wiekowe, płciowe i edukacyjne. Kwestionariusz zawierał pytania dotyczące preferencji gatunkowych, częstotliwości oglądania filmów oraz czynników wpływających na wybór treści filmowych. Wyniki wskazują, że najczęściej wybieranym gatunkiem wśród warszawiaków jest komedia, pełniąca funkcję rozrywkową i odprężającą. Dużą popularnością cieszyły się także filmy akcji oraz dramaty. Zainteresowanie budzą również thrillery, science fiction i fantasy, natomiast mniej chętnie wybierane są gatunki niszowe, takie jak Bollywood, noir czy filmy obyczajowe. Analiza demograficzna ujawniła, że wiek, wykształcenie i płeć istotnie różnicują preferencje. Porównanie z badaniami Polskiego Instytutu Sztuki Filmowej z 2024 roku wykazało zbieżność w wysokiej popularności komedii, ale także różnice, m.in. w częstszym wskazywaniu filmów fantastycznych i akcji przez warszawiaków. Wyniki badań wskazują, że preferencje filmowe w stolicy są zróżnicowane i podlegają wpływowi trendów kulturowych oraz dostępności treści na platformach streamingowych. Uzyskane rezultaty mogą stanowić istotne źródło wiedzy dla branży filmowej oraz dostawców usług streamingowych, pozwalając lepiej dopasować ofertę do potrzeb warszawskiej publiczności.

The aim of this master’s thesis was to identify the genre preferences of Warsaw residents and to examine the socio-demographic factors influencing film choices. Particular attention was devoted to the role of streaming platforms in shaping viewers’ tastes, as well as to comparing local findings with nationwide data. The research was conducted using a survey method, employing an online questionnaire distributed via social media. Over 100 respondents participated in the study, representing different age, gender, and educational groups. The questionnaire included questions about film genre preferences, viewing frequency, and factors affecting the choice of film content. The results indicate that comedy is the most frequently chosen genre among Warsaw residents, serving as a source of entertainment and relaxation. Action films and dramas were also highly popular. Thrillers, science fiction, and fantasy attracted considerable interest, whereas niche genres such as Bollywood, noir, or social dramas were less commonly selected. The demographic analysis revealed that age, education, and gender significantly differentiate preferences. A comparison with the 2024 study conducted by the Polish Film Institute showed a convergence in the high popularity of comedies, but also notable differences - particularly a stronger preference for fantasy and action films among Warsaw residents. The findings demonstrate that film preferences in the capital are diverse and influenced by cultural trends and the accessibility of content on streaming platforms. The results may serve as a valuable source of insight for the film industry and streaming service providers, helping them better tailor their offerings to the needs of Warsaw audiences.
