Das Bild des Mädchens in ausgewählten ostdeutschen Mädchenromanen aus den 1950er und 1980er Jahren

Praca podejmuje próbę analizy konstrukcji obrazu dziewczyny we wschodnioniemieckiej literaturze dla młodzieży na przykładzie czterech wybranych powieści – dwóch opublikowanych w latach pięćdziesiątych oraz dwóch pochodzących z lat osiemdziesiątych XX wieku. Celem pracy jest ukazanie zarówno ciągłości, jak i ewolucji w sposobie przedstawiania bohaterek w literaturze adresowanej do dziewcząt w NRD, a także identyfikacja mechanizmów ideologicznej instrumentalizacji tych przedstawień w kontekście zmieniających się uwarunkowań politycznych. Analiza skupia się zatem nie tylko na aspektach narratologicznych, lecz również na osadzeniu badanych tekstów w szerszym kontekście społeczno-politycznym i kulturowym, który warunkował zarówno proces ich powstawania, jak i późniejszą recepcję.

This study aims to analyze the construction of female characters in East German youth literature through a close examination of four selected novels—two from the 1950s and two from the 1980s. The primary focus lies in identifying both continuities and shifts in the representation of female protagonists within literary works explicitly directed at a young female readership. In particular, the study seeks to illuminate the mechanisms through which these character portrayals were ideologically instrumentalized, especially in light of the evolving political conditions of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). Accordingly, the analysis integrates narratological approaches with an investigation of the texts’ socio-political and cultural contexts, considering both their production and reception.

Die vorliegende Arbeit verfolgt das Ziel, die Konstruktion der Mädchenfiguren in der ostdeutschen Jugendliteratur anhand von vier ausgewählten Romanen – zwei aus den 1950er- und zwei aus den 1980er-Jahren – zu analysieren. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Untersuchung sowohl kontinuitiver als auch transformativer Darstellungsweisen der Protagonistinnen in literarischen Werken, die sich explizit an ein weibliches Jugendpublikum richten. Darüber hinaus sollen die Mechanismen ideologischer Instrumentalisierung dieser Figurenbilder im Kontext sich wandelnder politischer Rahmenbedingungen der DDR aufgezeigt werden. Die Analyse berücksichtigt daher neben narratologischen Aspekten insbesondere die Einbettung der Texte in ihren sozialpolitischen und kulturellen Entstehungs- und Rezeptionskontext.
