In this paper, we present the results of a reception study carried out in Catalonia to explore how audio description can help cognitively diverse individuals understand films. The study was conducted at the Josep Sol Special Needs Education School with students aged between 14 and 21 years who watched the Spanish version of the film A Shaun the Sheep Movie, with and without audio description. Our findings suggest that the information provided in the audio description acted as support for students with lower cognitive levels, helping them to contextualise and understand the images in the film.
