A Few Notes on the Occasion of the Seventieth Anniversary of Przegląd Orientalistyczny

The journal Przegląd Orientalistyczny (Oriental Review) has been published continuously since 1949, from 1953 under the auspices of the Polish Oriental Society (Polskie Towarzystwo Orientalistyczne, PTO). Until 2019, it functioned as the only nationwide Polish-medium periodical concerned with research on Asia and Africa, though from 2008 with abstracts in English included in the database of The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, and from 2019 it also started publishing articles in English. Although well-known to Polish scholars working in the field of Asian and African studies, for obvious reasons Przegląd Orientalistyczny is not well known outside Poland.
