Przedmiotem analizy niniejszej pracy jest współczesny wizerunek istoty zwanej wampirem, jego obecność w popkulturze oraz językowe wykorzystanie tejże nazwy w internetowych mediach informacyjnych. Autor porównuje współczesne wyobrażenia tego stworzenia, funkcjonujące w tekstach kultury popularnej pod postacią filmów produkcji amerykańskiej z lat 2023 i 2024 do sylwetki wampira w przekazach kultury ludowej, powieści Dracula autorstwa Brama Stokera, a także niektórych dziełach kinematografii anglojęzycznej XX wieku. Ponadto, na podstawie wybranych artykułów z września i października 2024 roku praca eksploruje zdywersyfikowane sposoby użycia samego terminu wampir w sferze internetowych mediów informacyjnych, jak również sensy i znaczenia mu w tychże mediach przypisywane. Powyższymi zabiegami autor dowodzi ewidentnego zubożenia wizerunku wampira, we współczesnej kulturze popularnej, przy jednoczesnym wzroście jego obecności w mediach oraz intensywnej ewolucji kontekstów, w jakich termin ów jest używany.

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is the contemporary image of the being known as vampire, its presencein pop culture, and the linguistic use of thi term in online news media. The author compares modern depictions of this creature, present in popular texts of culture, specifically in American films produced in years 2023 and 2024 with the figure of the vampire in folk culture narratives, Bram Stoker's novel ,,Dracula, and selected works of English-language cinema from the 20th century. Additionally, based on selected articles from September and October 2024, the thesis explores the diverse ways in which the term ,,vampire is used in online news media, as well as the meannings and connotations attributed to it in these contexts. Through this analysis, the author demonstrates a clear impoverishment of the vampire's image in contemporary popular culture, alongside a notable increase in its media presence and a dynamic evolution of the contexts in which the term is employed.
