DRAMAT DOROTY MASŁOWSKIEJ "MIĘDZY NAMI DOBRZE JEST" W INTERPRETACJI GRZEGORZA JARZYNY: POLSKIE SPOŁECZEŃSTWO POCZĄTKU XXI WIEKU

The aim of the article is to trace through the means the director Grzegorz Jarzyna has filmed the novel It Is OK Between Us (Między nami dobrze jest) based on Dorota Maslowska’s play. This piece is a vivid example of the “new drama”. Jarzyna resigns from realism and focuses on showing the psychology of the characters and their mutual relations. On the example of two social groups – representatives of the proletariat and bohemia (representatives of cinematography) – the director shows how contemporary Polish society functions. He in grotesque way showed the social transformations after 1989, exaggerated consumerism, complexes and identity problems of Poles and the fascination with the West. Jarzyna uses the blue box, which ideally gives the opportunity to build action, conflicts between the characters.
