„Artystka-matka. Macierzyństwo w sztuce polskich artystek XXI wieku.”

Praca analizuje reprezentacje macierzyństwa w sztuce polskich artystek w XXI w. Ukazuje, w jaki sposób matki-artystki, na fali transformacji ustrojowych i przemian społeczno- kulturowych w Polsce lat 90. XX w., mogły rozpocząć autentyczny dialog o macierzyństwie i niekiedy przekształcić swoje intymne doświadczenia w uniwersalny przekaz. Praca uwzględnia perspektywy z zakresu historii sztuki, socjologii i filozofii, szczególnie skupiając się na dyskursie wystawienniczym. Analiza rekonstruuje strategie twórcze wybranych artystek oraz wystawy zbiorowe i indywidualne skupione wokół tematu macierzyństwa. Omawia szczegółowo aspekty macierzyńskie w sztuce m.in. Elżbiety Jabłońskiej, Joanny Rajkowskiej i Zuzanny Janin. Ma na celu ukazanie, jak artystki odeszły od tradycyjnych narracji przypisanych sferze macierzyńskiej, aby przekształcić ją w pogłębioną refleksję nad własną tożsamością, kwestiami dziedziczenia międzypokoleniowego i nad statusem bycia matką w Polsce.

This research paper analyses how motherhood is represented in the art of Polish female artists in the 21st century. It shows the way in which mother-artists, against the backdrop of political transformation and socio-cultural changes in 1990s Poland, were able to initiate an authentic dialogue on motherhood and at times transform their intimate experiences into a universal narrative. The thesis considers perspectives from the fields of art history, sociology and philosophy, focusing particularly on exhibition discourse. The analysis reconstructs the artistic strategies of selected artists, as well as group and solo exhibitions centred on the motherhood theme. It discusses aspects of motherhood in the art of, amongst others, Elżbieta Jabłońska, Joanna Rajkowska and Zuzanna Janin. The aim is to show how these artists moved away from narratives traditionally associated with motherhood in order to transform it into a profound reflection on their own identity, intergenerational inheritance and the status of being a mother in Poland.
