Dyskurs liberalny w III RP jako komponent i przestrzeń sporów polityczno-ideologicznych

Przedmiotem analizy jest dyskurs polityczny w Polsce od momentu rozpoczęcia przekształceń systemowych. Problemem badawczym staje się wizerunek nurtu liberalnego w Polsce, w dyskursie publicznym, jego spójność i tożsamość, zmiany, jakim podlegał sam dyskurs, jak i interpretacja liberalizmu, ale też polemiki i spory z nim związane, czyli relacje między dyskursem liberalnym, a innymi formami dyskursu, występującymi na polskiej scenie politycznej.

Celem rozprawy jest ustalenie, jakie kontrowersje i polemiki towarzyszyły obecności, a w pewnym okresie nawet dominacji, dyskursu liberalnego w życiu politycznym i ideologicznym III RP. Istotnym jest też zweryfikowanie, w jaki sposób krytyka dyskursu liberalnego, wywodząca się z różnych tradycji politycznych i ideologicznych, wpływała na jego rozwój, postrzeganie i zasięg afirmacji lub negacji w społeczeństwie. Wymaga to zbadania dominujących form dyskursu obecnych w przestrzeni politycznej, zmian w natężeniu ekspozycji poszczególnych wartości na przestrzeni lat, a także wpływu nurtów konkurencyjnych na dyskurs liberalny, który początkowo aspirował do miana dominującego.

Autorka postawiła pytania badawcze, odnoszące się przede wszystkim do specyfiki kształtowania się dyskursu liberalnego w Polsce po 1989 roku, a także przyczyn tkwiących u źródeł utraty siły oddziaływania na duże grupy społeczne przez liberalne idee. Kolejne pytania zorientowane były na poszukiwanie procesów, uwarunkowań zewnętrznych i wewnętrznych, wpływających na niestabilność systemu dyskursu liberalnego. Kluczowa była również analiza sporów polityczno-ideologicznych, krytyki płynącej ze strony innych nurtów, dzięki którym uzyskano szerszy obraz zachodzących przemian. Ostatnie pole badawcze nakreślone przez autorkę odnosiło się do tych elementów, wywodzących się z porządku liberalnego, które trwale wpisały się w krajobraz dyskursywny III RP, a także tych, które na przestrzeni lat traciły moc oddziaływania.

By odpowiedzieć na tak postawione pytania Autorka podzieliła pracę na 6 rozdziałów, które poprzedza wstęp. We wstępie wskazane zostały podstawowe założenia, pytania i cele badawcze, podstawy zastosowanej metodologii, wykorzystywane źródła, a także osobiste kompetencje do podjęcia takiego tematu. Pierwsze trzy rozdziały można scharakteryzować jako podstawę teoretyczną dla dalszych badań własnych. W rozdziale pierwszym autorka skupia się na filozoficznych źródłach pojęcia dyskursu w powiązaniu z hermeneutycznym podejściem do analizy tekstów, jak również na pojęciach z zakresu komunikowania politycznego oraz aspektach związanych z rolą mediów. Drugi rozdział rozprawy zawiera zobrazowanie dyskursu w perspektywie dynamicznej, procesualnej.

Trzeci rozdział poświęcony jest zrekonstruowaniu podstaw myśli liberalnej w zakresie demokracji liberalnej, myśli ekonomicznej oraz liberalizmu światopoglądowego, ze zwieńczeniem w postaci opisu kształtowania się nurtu liberalnego w III RP. Rozdział ten wyznacza również sposób rozumienia liberalizmu w części analitycznej. Dwa kolejne rozdziały poświęcone są analizie dyskursu politycznego w III RP. W rozdziale czwartym uwaga zostaje skupiona na autoprezentacji oraz identyfikacji własnej liberałów w dyskursie publicznym w wyodrębnionych zakresach. Zaznaczone są również wewnętrzne spory i przekształcenia dyskursu liberalnego w Polsce. Rozdział piąty jest analizą wpływów podmiotów zewnętrznych na dyskurs liberalny. Badaniu poddane zostają główne zarzuty kierowane w stronę środowisk liberalnych przez inne środowiska, które wytworzyły własne systemy dyskursywne.

Rozdział szósty stanowi diagnozę stanu dyskursu liberalnego w Polsce i możliwości jego oddziaływania. Szczególnej analizie poddane zostały tożsamość nurtu liberalnego, obraz relacji z konkurentami oraz elementy ciągłości i zmiany. Całość wieńczy podsumowanie zawierające wyniki badań, przedstawione w postaci odpowiedzi na pytania badawcze oraz weryfikacji hipotez.

The main subject of the analysis is political discourse in Poland since the beginning of system transformation. The picture of the liberal trend has become a research dilemma in Poland. Its coherence and identity, changes of the discourse, as well as the interpretation of liberalism, but also polemics and disputes related to it, i.e. relations between liberal discourse and other forms of discourse occurring on the Polish political scene.

The essential goal of the dissertation is to establish controversy and polemics accompanying the presence of liberal discourse in the political and ideological existence of the Third Polish Republic. Moreover, it is crucial to verify how the critique of liberal discourse has been influenced by contrasting sides of the political scene. This requires exploring the dominant forms of discourse current in the political space, changes in the intensity of particular values over the years, as well as the impact of competing trends on liberal discourse, which initially aspired to be dominant.

The author poses research questions, referring primarily to the specifics of the formation of a liberal discourse in Poland after 1989, as well as the reasons behind the loss of influence on large social groups by liberal ideas. The next inquire is searching for processes, external and internal conditions affecting the instability of the liberal discourse system. The analysis of political and ideological disputes, criticism from other trends, owing to a broader picture of the changes. The last research field outlined by the author referred to those elements originating from the liberal order, which permanently entered the discursive landscape of the Third Polish Republic, but also that lost their power over the years.

To answer these questions, the author divided the work into six chapters, which precede the introduction. The introduction indicates the basic assumptions, questions, and research goals, the rudiments of the methodology, the sources, as well as personal competence to address that subject. The first three chapters can be characterized as the theoretical basis for further own research. In the first chapter, the author focuses on the philosophical sources of the concept of discourse in connection with the hermeneutic approach to text analysis. Moreover, concepts in the field of political communication and aspects related to the role of the media are included. The second chapter of the dissertation presents discourse in a dynamic, processual perspective.

The third chapter is assigned to the reconstruction of the foundations of liberal thought in the field of liberal democracy, economic thought, and ideological liberalism, with the culmination in the form of a description of the liberal movement in the Third Polish Republic. This chapter also determines the way of understanding liberalism in the analytical part. The next two chapters are aimed at the analysis of political discourse in the Third Polish Republic. Chapter four is focusing on self-presentation and identification of liberals in public discourse in classified areas. Internal disputes and transformations of a liberal discourse in Poland are also expressed. Chapter five is an analysis to what extent external entities were influencing liberal discourse. Contains the disapproval for liberal environments by other trends that have created their own discursive systems are examined.

Chapter six is a diagnosis of the condition of a liberal discourse in Poland and the possibilities of its impact. The identity of the liberal trend, the image of relations with competitors along with elements of continuity and change have been subjected to special analysis. All is concluded by a summary which accommodates the results of the research, presented in the form of answers to research questions and verification of hypotheses.
