Efficiency considerations of matrix structures in multinational corporations
| dc.abstract.en | The dissertation presents the outcomes of a study on the efficiency considerations of matrix organizational structures in multinational corporations. It reviews a major portion of the available literature on matrix organizations in search for detailed information about their key elements and the major matrix advantages and disadvantages. A new model for investigating matrix structures is proposed. The main selected themes undergo empirical research in a large multinational corporation operating in the consumer products industry. The results are later compared with the outcomes of a pilot study conducted in another corporation. The study delivers a number of new insights, incremental to the previous publications. It also indicates future potential research directions. |

| dc.abstract.pl | Rozprawa opisuje wyniki badania dotyczącego uwarunkowań sprawności struktur macierzowych w korporacjach transnarodowych. Na podstawie obszernego przeglądu literatury wskazano kluczowe koncepcje związane z tą strukturą organizacyjną, a także jej potencjalne zalety i wady. Wybrane zagadnienia poddano analizie empirycznej w transnarodowej korporacji z branży dóbr powszechnego użytku. W tym celu zaproponowano i zastosowano nowy model do analizy struktur macierzowych. Wyniki badania porównano z rezultatami badania pilotażowego przeprowadzonego w innej korporacji. Opracowanie prezentuje szereg nowych spostrzeżeń dotyczących funkcjonowania struktur macierzowych, zajmuje stanowisko w kilku dyskusjach na ich temat oraz wytycza proponowane obszary do dalszych badań. |
