| dc.abstract.en | The debate between individualism and generalism (qualitativism) concerns the status of individualistic facts and their relations with qualitative facts. It is argued that a proper definition of individualistic facts should be a modal one, and moreover that it requires the assumption of haecceitism for its adequacy, contrary to the common belief. Consequently, the positions of individualism and generalism are dependent upon the more fundamental stances of haecceitism and anti-aecceitism in the metaphysics of modality de re. |
| dc.abstract.pl | Debata pomiędzy indywidualizmem a generalizmem (kwalitatywizmem) dotyczy statusu indywidualistycznych faktów i ich związków z faktami jakościowymi. W pracy formułuje się argument za tezą, że poprawna definicja faktów indywidualistycznych powinna być modalna, a ponadto definicja ta wymaga założenia haecceityzmu, wbrew powszechnej opinii. W rezultacie, stanowiska indywidualizmu i generalizmu są zależne od bardziej fundamentalnych tez haecceityzmu i anty-aecceityzmu w metafizyce modalności de re. |
