Histoire et causes de la sorcellerie à travers l’exemple du Procès Criminel de la Dernière Sorcière brûlée à Genève le 6 avril 1652

dc.abstract.enThe analyzed, Criminal Trial of the Last Witch Burned in Geneva on April 6, 1652, text provides a detailed description of the trial of a woman accused of witchcraft and allows us to analyze its course. A mere denunciation was enough to bring someone to court, and torture, both mental and physical, was used on the accused to force confessions. Many innocent people, mostly women, were killed during the witch hunts. Among them, however, were also those who actually believed they were followers of Satan and participated in nightly Sabbaths. The basis for these visions may have been the creation of concoctions from plants with psychedelic properties or mental illness. Because of the multiplicity of these aspects, witch hunts are a fascinating topic that requires lengthy analysis.

dc.abstract.otherLe texte analysé, le Procès Criminel de la Dernière Sorcière brûlée à Genève le 6 avril 1652, décrit en détail le procès d'une femme accusée de sorcellerie et permet d'en analyser le déroulement. Une simple dénonciation suffisait à faire comparaître quelqu'un devant le tribunal, et la torture, tant mentale que physique, était utilisée sur l'accusé pour l'obliger à avouer. De nombreux innocents, principalement des femmes, ont été tués lors des chasses aux sorcières. Mais parmi eux, il y avait aussi ceux qui croyaient sincèrement qu'ils étaient des disciples de Satan et qui participaient à des sabbats nocturnes. Ces visions pouvaient être dues à la création de préparations à base de plantes aux propriétés psychédéliques ou à des maladies mentales. En raison de la multiplicité de ces aspects, la chasse aux sorcières est un sujet passionnant qui nécessite une longue analyse.
dc.abstract.plAnalizowany tekst, Proces Kryminalny Ostatniej Czarownicy spalonej w Genewie 6 kwietnia 1652, przedstawia dokładny opis procesu kobiety oskarżonej o czarownictwo i pozwala przeanalizować jego przebieg. Do doprowadzenia kogoś przed sąd wystarczył jedynie donos, a na oskarżonych stosowano tortury, zarówno psychiczne jak i fizyczne, aby wymusić przyznanie się do winy. W czasie polowań na czarownice zginęło wiele niewinnych osób, głównie kobiet. Wśród nich byli jednak również ci, którzy rzeczywiście wierzyli w to, że są wyznawcami szatana i uczestniczą w nocnych sabatach. Podstawą tych wizji mogło być tworzenie mikstur z roślin o właściwościach psychodelicznych bądź choroba psychiczna. Z względu na mnogość tych aspektów, polowania na czarownice to fascynujący temat, wymagający długiej analizy.
