Gdynia: Mosty między czasami - Połączenie archiwalnych i współczesnych fotografii w kontekście przemian urbanistycznych

dc.abstract.enThe paper presents a study of the urban transformation of the city of Gdynia over the years, using a combination of archival and contemporary photographs. The main objective is to understand the evolution of the city by analyzing changes in its structure, architecture and social life. The work is based on the theoretical foundations of the documentation of urban change, using the concepts of Susan Sontag, Walter Benjamin and others, and examines the role of archival photographs as a source of knowledge about the history of the city. The text also includes digital repositories and archives, such as the National Digital Archive, as a key tool in the study of cultural heritage. The work also presents urban changes in Gdynia over the decades, from the interwar period to the present day, pointing to the dynamic development of the city, modernization, reconstruction after World War II and revitalization processes in the 21st century. Through the analysis of photographs, the work shows how various factors influenced the formation of the current urban landscape of Gdynia. In addition, the work uses the technique of anaglyphs, enabling a three-dimensional presentation of archival and contemporary photographs, which allows the reader to dive deeper into the context of urban transformation. Thanks to the use of anaglyphs, the viewer can better understand the relationship between the past and the present, through images showing the dynamic transformations of the urban landscape.
dc.abstract.plPraca prezentuje badanie przemian urbanistycznych miasta Gdynia na przestrzeni lat, wykorzystując połączenie archiwalnych i współczesnych fotografii. Głównym celem jest zrozumienie ewolucji miasta poprzez analizę zmian w jego strukturze, architekturze i życiu społecznym. Praca opiera się na teoretycznych podstawach dokumentacji przemian miejskich, korzystając z koncepcji Susan Sontag, Waltera Benjamina i innych, oraz analizuje rolę archiwalnych fotografii jako źródła wiedzy o historii miasta. W tekście uwzględniono także repozytoria i archiwa cyfrowe, takie jak Narodowe Archiwum Cyfrowe, jako kluczowe narzędzie w badaniu dziedzictwa kulturowego. Praca również przedstawia przemiany urbanistyczne w Gdyni na przestrzeni dekad, począwszy od okresu międzywojennego aż do współczesności, wskazując na dynamiczny rozwój miasta, modernizację, odbudowę po II wojnie światowej oraz procesy rewitalizacji w XXI wieku. Poprzez analizę fotografii, praca ukazuje, jak różnorodne czynniki wpłynęły na kształtowanie się obecnego krajobrazu miejskiego Gdyni. Dodatkowo praca wykorzystuje technikę anaglifów, umożliwiającą trójwymiarową prezentację zdjęć archiwalnych i współczesnych, co pozwala czytelnikowi na głębsze zanurzenie się w kontekście przemian urbanistycznych. Dzięki wykorzystaniu anaglifów odbiorca może lepiej zrozumieć relacje pomiędzy przeszłością a teraźniejszością, poprzez obrazy ukazujące dynamiczne transformacje miejskiego krajobrazu.
