PiS und „Anti-PiS“. Blockbildung und Kulturkampf in Polen

Poland’s political landscape is extremely polarised. The governing party, the PiS, and the opposition are stably balanced against each other. Since 2015, the PiS has won all elections at national level. For PiS voters, cultural values are more important than material interests. However, the party’s support is being eroded, with young people and women turning against the PiS. The battle over culture is mobilising the opposition. In the conflict between the two blocks, the PiS and the “anti-PiS”, values, religion and the church, sexuality and self-determination play a key role.
