| dc.abstract.en | This dissertation examines the problem of the Republic of Armenia's security-building policy and the determinants that influenced it. The purpose of this study is to identify the external and internal determinants, such as the relationship dynamic between the Russian Federation and the collective West, that influenced the direction and effectiveness of the country's foreign and security policies and led to the current state of affairs. The author also explains the internal factors that influenced the formulation and implementation of Armenia's security policy. The main hypothesis of the work is that if Armenia's security-building policy is mainly dictated by external determinants rather than long-term national interest, then it must maintain a close connection with the region's leading great power, Russia, to balance the impact of these determinants on its security needs. The purpose of this research is to demonstrate that small states, such as Armenia, are unable to pursue autonomous security or foreign policy and must instead adapt to the existing structure of international relations to survive. The author benefited from the methodology provided by neorealism, which enabled her to situate Armenia in the regional and global context of international relations and evaluate its capabilities and policies from the standpoint of their effectiveness in ensuring the survival of the state. The main finding of the dissertation is that the security of the state depends on external factors over which it has no control, and to a lesser extent on internal factors. |
| dc.abstract.pl | Niniejsza rozprawa bada problematykę polityki budowania bezpieczeństwa Republiki Armenii oraz determinanty, które na nią wpłynęły. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest identyfikacja zewnętrznych i wewnętrznych uwarunkowań, takich jak dynamika relacji między Federacją Rosyjską a kolektywnym Zachodem, które wpłynęły na kierunek i skuteczność polityki zagranicznej i bezpieczeństwa kraju oraz doprowadziły do obecnego stanu rzeczy. Autorka również wyjaśnia czynniki wewnętrzne, które wpłynęły na formułowanie i realizację polityki bezpieczeństwa Armenii. Główną hipotezą pracy jest założenie, że jeśli polityka budowania bezpieczeństwa Armenii jest podyktowana głównie uwarunkowaniami zewnętrznymi, a nie długofalowym interesem narodowym, to Armenia musi utrzymywać ścisłe powiązania z wiodącym mocarstwem w regionie, Rosją, aby zrównoważyć wpływ tych determinant na swoje potrzeby w zakresie bezpieczeństwa. Celem niniejszych badań jest wykazanie, że małe państwa, takie jak Armenia, nie są w stanie prowadzić autonomicznej polityki bezpieczeństwa czy polityki zagranicznej i zamiast tego muszą dostosować się do istniejącej struktury stosunków międzynarodowych, aby przetrwać. Autorka skorzystała z metodologii neorealizmu, która umożliwiła jej usytuowanie Armenii w regionalnym i globalnym kontekście stosunków międzynarodowych oraz ocenę jej możliwości i polityki z punktu widzenia ich skuteczności w zapewnieniu przetrwania państwa. Głównym wnioskiem rozprawy jest stwierdzenie, że bezpieczeństwo państwa zależy w dużej mierze od czynników zewnętrznych, nad którymi nie ma ono kontroli, a w mniejszym stopniu od czynników wewnętrznych. |
